Climate in Krabi
Weather in Krabi is typical of the tropicals. With just two seasons :
- the hot season (November to April)
- the rainy season (May to October).
Monsoon winds, which blow from May - August, tend to shut down the Andaman sea. Ko Phi Phi and Ko Lanta Resorts close up, and the Ferry services to Ko Lanta is turned off. The Krabi Rainy season winds can cause rough seas, however this is rare, the ferry services are stopped primarily because of low tourist numbers during the low season.

Annual rainfall of Krabi averages 2,500 millimeters, or 2.5 meters! It is not uncommon to have a rain burst that dumps 80mm+ onto Krabi. In 2004 a single rain shower dumped a record 110mm in Ao Nang.
Now into the new Rainy season of 2006 ... Krabi is experiencing very few rain showers and plenty of Sun!
